TV Main Board Replacement Versus Fixing

By Maria Butler

The television you had is experiencing some issues. Maybe it shows nothing but a black screen. You might be considering a TV main board replacement. You know that buying a new mainboard would cost much. You begin to wonder if you could only change the destroyed component to save some dollars. If you are that person then you are in the right place. Today I will talk about how to replace destroyed components in the mainboard.

Before you begin with any of these steps you should have the necessary tools to remove the board from the TV. You most likely need some screwdrivers for this job. Additional tools can be added depending on the TV model.

Before starting the work, prepare the tools and the workplace. Also, make sure that no other signs of damages can be observed from the board. Burns actually shows signs of power surge and needs another guide to fix the issue. I am showing you how to replace a damaged EEPROM chip, so you may refer to other guides to handle power surge issues. You do not want to be distracted while working. Take your time in working on your new quest. There is no time limit for this job. Enjoy the process while trying to learn what you can from the experience.

To do any type of work you are required to have the specific tools for the specific job. Same when trying to replace the main board of the TV, you need specific tools to help you accomplish the work much faster. Tools are designed to help you do your job so make sure you have them.

And to complete the preparation process makes sure you have all the replacement parts available. You need them to replace the damaged parts. In our case we need the replacement for the main board, so make sure you have it.

By having these things prepared you will be sure of a smooth transition in different stages. This will save you more time because all the necessary things are already organized. Working in an organized environment will help you become efficient because it minimizes unnecessary waste of time.

I would recommend replacing the damage component rather than buying the mainboard which actually costs more. You just need a few technical skills to perform the operations. And with enough patience, you might be able to bring back a dead television set back to life.

Finally, we can now return the rear cover back to its place. Use the screws that we removed earlier to secure the cover in its place. Make sure they are tight enough for a maximum grip.

Replacing TV mainboards is a lot easier than replacing the EEPROM chip but is also costlier. You will end up throwing the whole board just because of a single component. I am not discouraging you against the replacement of the main board. I am merely showing you another alternative that is also effective in repairing your TV set.
